Frequently Asked Questions

Who can benefit from analysis? Some people arrive at the session naming their symptom as "anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, depression." Others suffer without having any idea why, where their distress comes from, or what to do about it. Regardless of the initial statement, what is listened to is the subject—that is, the one who benefits is the one who is suffering—and even more so, the one who decides to deal with it.

Regarding the cost/frequency of sessions: There is an initial contact with the interested person to get to know them, listen to some of their concerns, and align the agreements for future sessions, including costs, frequency, day and time, etc.

How long are the sessions? Sessions in Lacanian psychoanalysis are governed by logical, not chronological, time – therefore, although the average session time is around 50 minutes, the duration can vary.

Do you also offer online consultations? I offer both in-person consultations in Balneário Camboriú and online consultations – provided the patient has access to a good internet connection, as well as a physical space that guarantees their privacy.

From what age do you see patients? I see children from 3 years old, as well as teenagers and adults.

Is it safe to discuss my concerns in session? The patient is legally protected by Article 9 of the psychologist's professional code of ethics, which guarantees the confidentiality of what is discussed in the session.
